Even when you take care good of your oral health, staining to the teeth can occur over time. Dr. Lis Bradley, DDS provides teeth whitening services to patients with serious staining to the teeth and those with minor stains who want to achieve a dazzling white smile.  A consultation can help you determine how severe your stains are, what kind of results you can expect from a whitening treatment, and the best whitening option for you. 

To whiten your teeth at home, we outfit patients with whitening gel and a set of custom trays for the application.  A dentist takes an impression of your teeth, and from this impression, two custom trays are made for your top and bottom teeth.  The trays are made for you to take home and use by applying gel to the trays and then fitting them over your teeth. The dentist’s recommendation of how often to treat and how long each treatment should last may vary.  When following the dentist’s recommendations, most patients see results of teeth whitening 4-8 shades.  We also offer in-office teeth whitening.  Along with custom trays and whitening gel, this service also includes a 2.5 hour chairside session to give you a boost in the whitening process.

Bridges

Missing teeth wreak havoc on your mouth over time.  Gaps in the teeth can cause problems with eating and speech, and when a tooth is missing long enough the jaw bone is vulnerable and the structure becomes compromised. Dr. Lis Bradley, DDS installs permanent bridges that replace missing teeth and still look natural.

Permanent bridges use healthy teeth on either side of a missing tooth to anchor a replacement in the appropriate location.  The replacement tooth is held in place by caps on the teeth on either side.  This can typically be accomplished in two visits.  First, an impression of the area is taken so that a dental laboratory can create a bridge that will fit perfectly.  A temporary bridge will be placed while your custom product is fabricated.  On your second visit, the bridge will be cemented into place.  With proper care bridges can last a lifetime, but can be replaced if needed.

Dangers of DIY Orthodontics

Dr. Lis Bradley is proud to be a certified ClearCorrect provider. In recent years, dentists have been alarmed by a rise in so-called DIY orthodontics. These dangerous practices, advertised as time and money savers, actually pose a severe risk to peoples’ oral health.

Many orthodontists consider their work a form of art. Guiding the movement of living tissue such as teeth through the jaw is a complicated process which requires careful judgment. The jawbone must dissolve and rebuild itself as the teeth migrate across it, which takes time. Unfortunately, stories are circulating on the internet of people who 3D-print their own invisible aligners, allowing them to move their teeth at a faster pace. Doing this prevents the jaw bone from rebuilding, allowing the teeth to shift back to their original position or to become loose and fall out.
